The Ski Classics Challengers event, Ushuaia Loppet, took place this Sunday with a 42km long-distance ski race in classic technique in Ushuaia, Argentina. Get to know the winners.

The Ski Classics Challengers event, Ushuaia Loppet, took place this Sunday with a 42km long-distance ski race in classic technique in Ushuaia, Argentina. Get to know the winners.

After a cloudy day in the southernmost city in the world, the Ski Classics Challengers event saw Johan Didron, DPONLY Ski Team/Sweden, and Isabel Lane, Switzerland, win the race with solid performances.

Ushuaia Loppet Men’s Race

In the men’s competition, the winner was Johan Didron, DPONLY Ski Team/Sweden, with a total time of 2:08:08. 

Vitor de Lima Santos, Brazil, finished more than 15 minutes behind, with a time of 2:24:19, followed by Alexander Elsenhans, Germany, with a total time of 2:26:08 and completing the podium in the third position.

  1. Johan Didron, DPONLY Ski Team/Sweden, 2:08:08
  2. Vitor de Lima Santos, Brazil, 2:24:19
  3. Alexander Elsenhans, Germany, 2:26:08

Ushuaia Loppet Women’s Race

Isabel Lane, Switzerland, took first place today at Ushuaia Loppet. The Swiss skier completed the race in a total time of 2:37:56.

Lydia Blanchet, from the USA, snagged second place, with a time of 2:39:29, and Anne Grethe Lund, Norway, completed the podium in third place, with a total time of 3:58:29.

  1. Isabel Lane, Switzerland, 2:37:56
  2. Lydia Blanchet, USA, 2:39:29
  3. Anne Grethe Lund, Norway, 3:58:29

As Ushuaia Loppet is a Ski Classics Challengers event, Pro Team registered athletes could collect points for the Ski Classics Champion and Youth competitions in their respective gender.
