The Italian roller ski team is poised for success as they prepare for the upcoming roller ski competitions. With less than a week until the start of the Madona Roller Ski World Cup and Junior World Championships, the Italian team was presented.  

The Italian roller ski team is poised for success as they prepare for the upcoming roller ski competitions. With less than a week until the start of the Madona Roller Ski World Cup and Junior World Championships, the Italian team was presented.  

Madona, Latvia, is the place for the next Roller Ski World Cup and the 2023 World Championships. In a press release, the Italian Winter Sports Federation (FISI – Federazione Italiana Sport Invernali) has named their athletes for the upcoming events.

Set to start on August 18, the stage is set for athletes from around the globe to embark on a fierce quest for glory in the Madona World Cup and Junior World Championships on roller skis. 

The Madona Roller Ski World Cup and Junior World Championships program feature a series of races that will captivate fans and challenge athletes. On August 18, the competition will commence with the individual race in classic technique, featuring a 15-kilometer course for men, 10km for women and junior men, and 7.5km for junior women.

The excitement continues on August 19 with the 200 meters sprint in freestyle technique for all athletes. 

Finally, on August 20, the event will culminate with the mass start race in freestyle technique. Athletes will battle it out over a 20-kilometer course for men and junior men, while women and junior women will face a challenging 15-kilometer course.

Program for the Madona Roller Ski World Cup and Junior World Championships

  • August 18 – individual race in classic technique (15km men; 10 km women and junior men; 7.5km junior women)
  • August 19 – 0.2km sprint in freestyle technique (women/men and junior women/junior men)
  • August 20 – mass start in freestyle technique (20 km men/junior men and 15 km women/junior women)
