The Swedish ski star is single: Breakup between William Poromaa and his Norwegian girlfriend Cecilie.

Swedish cross-country skiing star William Poromaa and Norwegian Cecilie Wasler Fone have been together since before the World Championships in Trondheim in 2025. Now, it’s over. 

“Of course it’s nice,” the ski star told Aftonbladet, elaborating further.

“It’s a very egocentric profession you’re in, really. You perform with your body and do everything to be as good as possible. It’s a special life and sometimes it can be nice to do it in silence,” said the 25-year-old. 

Girlfriend: “He always focuses on one goal” 

The relationship became public when William Poromaa kissed a woman in the crowd after the 50km race in Granåsen.

Wasler Fone has shared with SVT about what it’s like to live with a top athlete.

“It affects us 24/7. He always focuses on one goal and thinks through everything he does. It takes a lot out of him during the most demanding periods. It affects me too,” she said in a documentary this winter.

Now the relationship is officially over. Poromaa confirms this.  

“That’s correct, but I don’t want to talk more about it,” said the 25-year-old Swede to Expressen. 

Before Wasler Fone, Poromaa was in a relationship with Swedish ski star Frida Karlsson, but that relationship ended in the fall of 2022.
