Johaug has become a mother for the second time
The cross-country skiing superstar has claimed the year’s first gold, and Therese Johaug has become a mother again.
This weekend, Therese Johaug announced that she and her husband, Nils Jakob, have welcomed their second child.
“Days like this don’t come often… a new mom and the recipient of the Sports Gala’s honorary award on the same day,” the cross-country skiing star wrote on her Instagram account.
Johaug gave birth to her second child, a baby boy, at Rikshospitalet in Oslo. The baby arrived about a week earlier than the due date of January 17.
The couple already has a daughter, Kristin, who was born on May 17, 2023.
Johaug first revealed in August that she was expecting her second child. She also disclosed last autumn that the pregnancy was the reason she would not be targeting this winter’s Olympic Games in Italy.
Still, Johaug may be involved in the Olympics. Last autumn, the 37-year-old revealed that she is planning an ambitious setup after giving birth.
This includes serving as an expert commentator for NRK during the Olympic Games in Milan/Cortina, which run from February 6 to 22.
