The cross-country skiing World Cup season 2025/2026 moves to Drammen and Holmenkollen, Norway, this weekend, and the Swedish national team has been announced.

Norway will host two cross-country skiing World Cup races on Thursday and Saturday. The program opens on Thursday, March 12, with a Sprint in classic technique. The weekend concludes on Saturday, March 14, 2026, with a 50km Mass Start race in freestyle technique.

In a press release, the Swedish Ski Association confirmed the national team selection for Drammen and Holmenkollen.

“Drammen is always an experience with tight competitions and exciting events. We have the same sprint team as in Lahti for the women and for the men it is time to give the chance to two skiers from the U23 World Championships, Erik Johansson and Erik Bergström, who did great there. Alvar Myhlback is back after the Olympics and will be interesting to watch in Drammen,” says national team manager Anders Byström.

Holmenkollen is once again offering a 50km event, and this year with a new format where the men’s and women’s races are scheduled on the same day with a 45-minute start interval. This is to create the conditions for a real public celebration.

“Previously, there has been a slightly lower influx on Sunday, but now we are expecting a huge atmosphere as everything is running on Saturday,” says Anders Byström.
