Make sure to test your skis for fluor before the season starts! Ski Classics clothing partner Fjällräven invites you to free fluor testing at its brand store on Karl Johan St. on November 21 in collaboration with Ski Classics.

A total ban on fluor has been enforced for all races sanctioned by the International Ski & Snowboard Federation – FIS. Cleaning skis and equipment, including brushes previously used with fluor products, is especially important. Even if you avoid using fluor before a race, residues on the skis may still show up during a test.

On this day, Ski Classics will be present with a fluor-testing machine, and you are invited to drop by and have your skis checked.

Welcome!

Why test for fluor?

Fluor contains harmful fluorocarbons (PFAS) and has been banned in all FIS-sanctioned races since the 2023/2024 season. Fluor tests can be conducted either before a race or after finishing.

Ensuring all equipment (skis, brushes, tools) is entirely fluor-free is challenging, so there is a threshold value in place. The test takes only a short time, and skis are classified as approved/not approved in just a few seconds.

Practical Information

Testing your skis is free of charge. You are encouraged to sign up for the event using the link below to secure a testing slot in case of high demand and to stay updated with the latest news. Testing requires just one ski.

Drop-in testing is available between 11:00 CET and 18:00 CET (The store is open from 10:00 CET to 19:00 CET).

The first 10 people to test their skis will receive a surprise from Fjällräven.
