The Norwegian cross-country team is preparing for a winter with the World Championships on home soil. Some of their training camps will be on Swedish snow.

At the end of February and beginning of March next year, the big goal of the winter awaits the world’s best traditional cross-country skiers for the World Championships in Trondheim, Norway.

Like all other nations, the Norwegian national team is now preparing for the challenges of the coming winter. It is now clear that the Norwegian national team will partly prepare on Swedish snow.

Idre Fjäll has been saving snow since 2015 to ensure an early premiere for both cross-country and alpine skiers and has signed a cooperation agreement with the Norwegian national cross-country ski team.

In November, skiers and service staff will arrive in Idre Fjäll for a training camp that will be an essential part of the preparation for the World Championships in Trondheim, and where the service team will carry out extensive equipment testing. Already this week, Team Elon is at Idre Fjäll for its annual training camp, now in its fourth year.

“Idre Fjäll offers perfect conditions for our athletes with its snow safety and high level of service. We are looking forward to rewarding cooperation and being able to prepare in the best way for the coming seasons,” says Ulf Morten Aune, head of the Norwegian national ski team, in a press release.

The Swedish biathlon team is also preparing in Idre for the winter season, with the World Championships in Lenzerheide, Switzerland, as the primary goal. On November 16-17, the Swedish premiere in biathlon will take place at Idre Fjäll.
