The Swedish cross-country skier Linn Svahn is preparing for a competitive comeback after her shoulder injury, but it will take a few more weeks. “I don’t want to gamble,” says Svahn to Viaplay.

Linn Svahn had her big breakthrough in the 2019/2020 season when she won several World Cup competitions. Towards the World Championships in Oberstdorf, she was one of the biggest favorites for gold, but before the championship, she injured her shoulder.

The injury required surgery and a long rehabilitation. Now the 21-year-old is approaching a comeback. But it won’t be at the Swedish premiere in Bruksvallarna or the World Cup premiere in Ruka (at the end of November):

“I can fully train, but I want to spend even more time on training. I do a good job daily, but you must respect the process. I don’t want to gamble. I want to feel prepared and safe,” says Svahn to Viaplay.

She does not want to nail down a definite date when she aims to make her comeback:

“My plan is not nailed down. I want to have a horizon and build more base with training on snow,” says Svahn to Viaplay.
