The Ski Classics Challengers events, La Transjurassienne Classic and Skating, will be raced on February 13 and 14, 2027, on a 50km course from Lamoura to Les Rousses. The organizers have now published the full route, the race’s standard course from this edition onward, in the Jura Mountains, France.

The organizers of one of France’s biggest cross-country ski races have released the course for both Ski Classics Challengers races. On Saturday, February 13, the Classic 50km opens the weekend. On Sunday, February 14, La Transjurassienne follows in skating. Both start in Lamoura at 9:00 CET and finish in Les Rousses.

According to the Local Organizing Committee, the route was designed to prioritize the areas with the most reliable snow conditions.

The course

The race starts in Lamoura, beside the Lac de Lamoura at Combe du Lac. It heads northeast through the Forêt du Massacre to the first feed station at La Darbella, after 10km. The course then turns back southwest past Le Boulu at 15km. It reaches the second feed station at La Chaux-Berthod after 20.5km.

From there, the route climbs north through Combe Sambine at 26.5km and the Vallée des Rennes at 29.5km. The third feed station comes at Prémanon after 30km. Skiers then pass the CNSNMM site at 33.5km and continue north toward Les Rousses. A final loop takes the field to La Gouille à l’Ours, near the Lac des Rousses, at 41.3km, before the finish in Les Rousses.

The course has 760m of elevation gain and 800m of elevation loss. Its altitude ranges from 1,061m to 1,307m.

The organizers have also released a 3D presentation of the course:

A response to a decade of uncertain snow

The new standard course follows years of adjustments. According to the Local Organizing Committee, La Transjurassienne was held 11 times between 2016 and 2026. Only one of those editions, in 2019, was raced in full on the historic course from Lamoura to Mouthe. Six were held on adapted courses, and four were canceled, including the 2021 edition because of COVID.

By concentrating the race in the Haut-Jura, the organizers say they can reinforce the most vulnerable sections and prepare the tracks under the best possible conditions. Participants also know the course they face from the moment they register.

The area is familiar to the field. In 2026, all events were held between Lamoura and Les Rousses.

“The distance is changing. The Transju’ spirit lives on,” the LOC wrote in its announcement.
