Uncertainty surrounds ski star: “Everyone is terrified”
No one has seen the ski star for many months. The 30-year-old has vanished, and now the skiing community is searching for answers: “It’s obvious that they are hiding something.”
The World Cup took place in Germany last weekend, but its biggest star was missing.
Victoria Carl has not competed for ten months. In June, it was announced that she had returned a positive doping test in March.

The German ski star is currently suspended, but no verdict has yet been delivered. No one knows what is happening, not even the national team.
“There is no information at all, we are guessing just like you are and waiting for information,” national team teammate Laura Gimmler said after Sunday’s 10-kilometer race in Oberhof.
She has not met Carl since before the suspension decision was announced and says that “hardly anyone” on the team has been in contact with her.
“We don’t know much, we think about her often, and we are very sad for her, how unfortunate her situation has become. I think it’s really, really tough, and I feel for her. But we don’t have contact,” Gimmler told Expressen.
Completely unresolved
Shortly before the World Cup season opener in Ruka, the German Ski Association announced that Victoria Carl would miss the 2026 Olympic Games.
“I still have a hard time accepting that a moment of carelessness and incorrect medical treatment has now shattered my Olympic dream,” Carl said in a press release at the time.
The 29-year-old has explained that she ingested the banned substance unintentionally, through a cough medicine prescribed by her doctor, and that she was unaware it contained a prohibited substance.
The German Anti-Doping Agency (NADA) has yet to issue a decision on the length of her suspension.

“It’s obvious that they are hiding something“
Since the statement about her suspension was released in November, Carl has remained entirely silent.
The questions surrounding the doping case are many and significant. When Viaplay sought answers from the German Ski Association regarding Carl’s suspension, the organization responded that it would not comment on an ongoing process.
Oberhof is located just 15 minutes from Zella-Mehlis, the town where Carl grew up. However, her local ski club is also unwilling to comment.
“The story that has been communicated is very clear, but despite that, everyone is terrified to speak out. And it’s taking time, with no one able to explain why. It’s obvious that they are hiding something; the only question is what,” said TV reporter Ludvig Svan.
The skiing community is now concerned about the popular 31-year-old.
“I’m sure she’s not feeling well right now, and she must be very frustrated. It’s hard to get a hold of her. I hope she’s doing well,” Laura Gimmler said.
