Tour de Ski: Results Stage 3 – 10km Skate Women

by Ingeborg Scheve • 31.12.2021
Jessie Diggins (USA) bags her second Tour de Ski stage victory after outsprinting Frida Karlsson on the finish line in the women’s 10-kilometer skate race in Oberstdorf, Germany.

After winning the 10-kilometer skate race in Oberstdorf Friday afternoon, defending Tour de Ski champion Jessie Diggins is back in the yellow leader bib for tomorrow’s stage.

Leading the mass start event off the line and for most of the first of the three laps, Diggins fell back somewhat in the middle of the race. But on the last lap, she was on fire.

Approaching the finish line, the 30-year-old American was on fire. She pulled off a massive surge in signature Diggins-style: pour every ounce of energy onto the course in a final collapse-across-the-finish-line effort.

Top 3, 10km mass start, women
1. Jessie Diggins, USA, 21:30.8
2. Frida Karlsson, Sverige, +0.5
3. Tatiana Sorina, Russia, +4.0

Earlier today, the men raced their 15-kilometer mass start skate race at the same venue. Johannes Høsflot Klæbo won the stage and increased his overall lead in the 2022 Tour de Ski.

Tomorrow, Tour de Ski continues in Oberstdorf. Stage 3 features start sprint races for men and women
