No one captured more medals than this year’s comeback sensation: Three days after the World Cup final in Falun, the 24-year-old Swedish embarked on a wild medal raid.

Just three days after the final race in the World Cup, the Swedish cross-country skiing start was back on the podium and chasing more podium finishes, this time in Luleå, Sweden.

There were six races in seven days during the Swedish Championships Week, the first just three days after the end of the World Cup. Linn Svahn stood on the podium in all individual races and one of the two relays, returning home from this year’s Swedish Championships in northern Sweden with one gold, two silver, and two bronze medals. No other skier took more medals than the 24-year-old from Östersund.

According to Langrenn.com, Svahn also made the most impressive comeback of the season: After missing the entire 2022 Olympic season and much of the 2023 World Championships season, she won the sprint World Cup and came close to winning the overall World Cup.

Brutal Season Finale

The week started with the 20km freestyle mass start on Wednesday, March 20, and ended with the 30km and 50km races on Tuesday, March 26.

“I hurt everywhere. I’m so tired,” said Linn Svahn during the Swedish Championships over the weekend.

During the Swedish Championship Week, six races and one rest day were scheduled: a 20km freestyle mass start on Wednesday, March 20; a classic team sprint on Thursday, March 21; a 10km classic individual start on Friday, March 22; a rest day on Saturday, March 23; a sprint on Sunday; relays on Monday; and finally, a 30km/50km classic on Tuesday, March 26.
