Sömskar and Herland mass start winners at the Madona Roller Ski World Cup

The Roller Ski World Cup had its third and final day this Sunday with a freestyle mass start race in Madona, Latvia. Linn Sömskar (SWE) and Kasper Herland (NOR) won their respective races.

15km Women’s Mass Start F – Madona Roller Ski World Cup 

Linn Sömskar (SWE) took first place today at the Madona Roller Ski World Cup in the women’s 15km mass start race in freestyle technique. Sömskar completed the race in a total time of 34:47.0.

Jackline Lockner (SWE) snagged second place, 20.4 seconds behind the winner, and Keidy Kaasiku (EST) completed the podium in third place, 21.8 seconds back.

20km Men’s Mass Start Race – Madona Roller Ski World Cup 

In the 20km men’s mass start race, we saw Kasper Herland (NOR) taking home first place with a total time of 44:11.5.

Matteo Tanel (ITA) snagged second place, 3.9 seconds back, and Raimo Vigants (LAT) completed the podium in third place, 4.1 seconds behind the winner.

Program for the Madona Roller Ski World Cup and Junior World Championships

  • August 18 – individual race in classic technique (15km men; 10 km women and junior men; 7.5km junior women)
  • August 19 – 200m sprint in freestyle technique (women/men and junior women/junior men)
  • August 20 – mass start in freestyle technique (20 km men/junior men and 15 km women/junior women)
