Norwegian Ski Association appoints new waxing manager and fluoride-free coordinator
In a recent announcement, the Norwegian Ski Association revealed the appointment of a new waxing manager and a fluoride-free coordinator.
Tord Hegdal, waxing manager and Stein Olav Snesrud, fluoride-free coordinator for the Norwegian Ski Association.
According to a press release, Tord Hegdahl is the new manager of the cross-country waxing team and truck. Meanwhile, Stein Olav Snesrud, the former waxing manager, will transition into the role of fluoride-free coordinator in light of the FIS’s decision to implement a fluoride ban starting from the upcoming 2023/2024 ski season.
“Tord (Hegdahl) has worked in the Norwegian Ski Association since 2014, the last two years as manager for the waxing truck. Now he will be primarily responsible for the team of 11 wax techs/ski testers who will ensure that the cross-country skiers achieve new triumphs in World Cups and Championships.”
On the other hand, having served as the head of waxing in cross-country skiing since 2018, Stein Olav Snesrud embarks on a new endeavor as he takes on the crucial role of preparing and implementing the fluoride ban across the Norwegian Ski Association. In his shared role for cross-country skiing and the association centrally, Snesrud will coordinate with resource persons from various branches, ensuring a seamless transition to a fluoride-free environment in compliance with FIS regulations.
“Both Tord Hegdahl and Stein Olav Snesrud eagerly anticipate the challenges. Their commitment to maintaining a close working relationship reflects their dedication to delivering exceptional results. With a deep sense of responsibility, they approach the implementation of the fluoride ban with utmost seriousness, recognizing its significance for the entire Ski Association,” concludes the press release.
