The last day of the Beitostølen Cross-Country Skiing World Cup saw Team Norway II win the 4x5km mixed relay in a close finish with Teams Norway I and Sweden I.

The last day of the Beitostølen Cross-Country Skiing World Cup saw Team Norway II win the 4x5km mixed relay in a close finish with Teams Norway I and Sweden I.

Team Norway II, with Lotta Udnes Weng, Mikael Gunnulfsen, Silje Theodorsen, and Simen Hegstad Krueger, won today’s 4x5km mixed relay with a total time of 54:04.0 in a thrilling dispute for the medals.

Norway I, with Anne Kjersti Kalvå, Martin Løwstrøm Nyenget, Heide Weng, and Emil Iversen, secured second place with a time of 54:09.5.

Maja Dahlqvist, Wiliam Poromaa, Frida Karlsson, and Calle Halfvarsson, from Sweden I, completed the podium in third place with a time of 54:10.5

New this season is the same race distances for women and men in all World Cup events, as the International Ski & Snowboard Federation (FIS) decided in May. Several other changes have also been introduced to the World Cup.

The World Cup continues this weekend in Beitostølen, Norway. On the program, there is a sprint in classic technique on Friday, a 10km individual race in classic technique on Saturday, and a mixed relay on Sunday.
