Michal Lamplot was named the new FIS Cross-Country Race Director, replacing Pierre Mignerey.

The International Skiing and Snowboarding Federation (FIS) has named Michal Lamplot as the new cross-country skiing race director. Lamplot replaces Pierre Mignerey, who has been in the position for the past 12 years.

However, Lamplot is not new at FIS. He has worked in the Federation since 2009 and has been working as an Assistant Race Director with Mignerey for the last 12 years at Cross-Country World Cups.

Lamplot has worked “in virtually every area of FIS Cross-Country, from social media and content creation, media coordinator, leading the Nordic Junior & U23 World Ski Championships, to a vast background with the sports side as FIS Cross-Country Assistant Race Director,” according to a FIS press release

“Pierre has been a fantastic leader, mentor, and friend. Working with him for over a decade has made me well equipped for this position,” says Lamplot and continues:

“I look forward to taking over the responsibility and continuing to develop cross-country skiing for the future, together with all our co-owners and partners. With Doris (Kallen) and Synne (Dyrhaug) here in the office, we have a skilled cross-country team and full focus on the coming season.”

Doris Kallen has moved into the position of World Cup Coordinator, while Synne Dyrhaug will be responsible for the cross-country media operations.

“First and foremost, we would like to thank Pierre for his tremendous work over the last 12 years with FIS. He has laid the groundwork for a solid future for the sport and built a team that will be able to make a seamless transition,” concludes FIS Secretary General Michel Vion.
