Less than a year remains until the World Championships in Trondheim. One of the favorites is Johannes Høsflot Klæbo.

This Friday, the Norwegian traditional cross-country skiing star held a press conference to announce his plans for the coming season.

Norwegian channel NRK announced in the morning that the 27-year-old would be ready to return to the National Team after a season away from the squad, and the information was confirmed during the afternoon’s press conference.

“I am very happy that we have reached this agreement in good time and before we start officially on May 1,” says Klæbo about the agreement to Langrenn.com during the press conference.

“It is something I look forward to. It will be nice to be back.”

Why do you choose to go back to the national team now?

“It is about several things. But first and foremost, I’ve always wanted to be part of a team. I enjoy my teammates; I have great talk and good contact with all the wax techs and support staff who are around. When you have 250 travel days a year, and 100 to 150 of them are with the national team, it goes without saying that it’s a group I enjoy being with,” says Klæbo and continues:

“Circumstances have meant that we are in a completely different place now. It has been a great process since the new year. I am happy that it has been cleaned up and in good time. We have landed a deal that we are all happy with, which will benefit the Norwegian Ski Association and me.
