Helene Fossesholm Is Moving To Oslo

Helene Fossesholm is moving to Oslo in a couple of weeks. The 21-year-old has high expectations for that. But even living alone, she doesn’t think it will be lonely.

Helene Marie Fossesholm will move from Vestfossen to Oslo in a couple of weeks. And the 21-year-old has high expectations for that, both socially and sportingly.

“I am not a person who sits alone a lot and stares at the wall, says Helene Marie Fossesholm to Langrenn.com

Why are you moving to Oslo?

“It is more central to things that are happening. It will be a bit too much to commute three times a week or more. So, it is much more practical. The Olympiatoppen has a lot to offer with treadmill sessions and follow-up on strength training. There are many sessions and training that take place there, and then I have many friends who I look forward to training more with,” says Fossesholm and continues:

“Therese (Johaug), Heidi (Weng) and Ingvild (Flugstad Østberg) live nearby, and then it’s close to Kollen. And Ragnhild (Gløersen Haga) lives in Maridalen, so there are many people to be with.

So, you train a bit with Therese?

“Yes, it happens. It’s really nice to have her around, even if she’s not on the team anymore. There is great confidence in being able to ask her because she has a lot of experience, and she always offers a lot of advice.”

When Therese quit, you said you wanted to get all her experience, tips, and advice: How far have you come with it?

“I don’t really need to push her for anything. Lots of tips come from her completely spontaneous.”

What has she told you?

“A lot comes from her, often on technique and spontaneously. But there is great confidence in knowing I can always ask her.”

Are you going to live alone?

“Yes, but I don’t think I’ll be sitting by myself too much, so I don’t think it will be a problem. But I have also lived quite a bit in the cabin alone. It will be the same.”

Moving to Oslo will change your everyday life?

“I’m really looking forward to not having to live on a suitcase every time I’m in Oslo. And then there are better skiing conditions in winter because now I don’t have to drive every time I go out on the tracks.”
