Åge Skinstad Is The New 2025 Nordic World Ski Championships Manager
Åge Skinstad, the 58-year-old Norwegian, was appointed on Tuesday as the new manager for the 2025 Nordic World Ski Championships.
“We are very pleased to be able to employ Åge Skinstad as the new World Championships manager. Åge has long and broad management experience in sports and business, covering many of the important areas in the run-up to the World Championships. He knows the skiing environments and volunteering in Norway and Trøndelag well. He also has a good international network,” says Bård Benum, chairman of the 2025 World Ski Championships, in a press release.
Skinstad is a former cross-country skier who later worked as a cross-country skiing manager for the Norwegian Skiing Association and held several leadership positions in the business world.
“The fact that he now wants to return to the sport after seven years in business is perfect timing for us. We look forward to having Åge on board to lead the World Championships project towards a great festival,” continues Benum.
For Skinstad, this is a dream job:
“For someone who has been present at many large ski events, this is the dream job. Anyone who remembers the World Championships in 1982, 1997, and 2011 and who is fond of skiing can imagine a job like that. I was present during the World Championships in 1997 for NRK, and want to contribute to the World Championships in 2025 being an even bigger public festival,” says Skinstad and continues:
“I look forward to a good collaboration in the World Championships organization with the owners, Ski Norway, and the business community to create this folk festival,” concludes Skinstad.
