Ski Classics and long-distance skiing are on the rise in Sweden and Norway, with the main channels broadcasting the races live in these countries. Astrid Øyre Slind, Alvar Myhlback, and many other skiers have shown that training and races for long-distance skiing can increase capacity and fitness levels, even for traditional distances.
Marit Bjørgen and Pål Gunnar Mikkelsplass have been hired as the new coaches for the Norwegian women’s elite cross-country skiing national team. The Norwegian duo will work under the guidance of head coach Sjur Ole Svarstad.
The sprint star Nadine Fähndrich gets Norwegian coaches. The duo will be responsible for the Swiss national cross-country team in the coming season.
