Alliansloppet, a Ski Classics Challengers event, took place on August 26 with a 48km long-distance roller ski race in Trollhättan, Sweden.

After a day full of action, the Ski Classics Challengers Allianslopept saw Astrid Øyre Slind, Team Aker Dæhlie, and Thomas Joly, Team Næringsbanken Stora Enso, winning the race with solid performances.

Alliansloppet – Women’s Race

In the women’s competition, the winner was Astrid Øyre Slind, Team Aker Dæhlie. From the start of the second of three laps, Astrid broke away from the leading group of contenders and never looked back, winning the race with a solo and powerful performance and a time of 2:12:10.5. 

Anikken Gjerde Alnæs, Team Ragde Charge, finished in second place, 2:42.4 behind, closely followed by Rosie Brennan, Team Robinson Trentino, 2:45.0 back and completing the podium in the third position.

Alliansloppet – Men’s Race

In the men’s competition, the winner was Thomas Joly, Team Næringsbanken Stora Enso. A big group of favorites was formed at the beginning of the last lap, and it seemed all was set to be a sprint finish. Joly, in a late surge inside the final kilometer, surprised the opponents and won the race a few seconds ahead of the main group with a total time of 1:53:14.6 

Peter Stakston, Team Aker Dæhlie, finished in second place, 2.7 seconds behind, followed by Mathias Aas Rolid, Team Janteloppet, 3.0 seconds back, and completing the podium in the third position.

As Alliansloppet is a Ski Classics Challengers event, Pro Team registered athletes could collect points for the Ski Classics Champion and Youth competitions in their respective genders.
