The Swedish roller ski event Värnamorullen enters Visma Ski Classics as a Challengers event with a 40 km distance in classic technique. The event will be held on September 4th, 2021.

For the fifth time, Värnamorullen will take place in Värnamo, in the middle of southern Sweden, and for the first time as a Visma Ski Classics Challengers. The organizers invite professional as well as recreational skiers and youngsters to an event with an extremely nice course along scenic landscapes and a good road surface. The roller ski track is rather flat and suits all levels of athletes.

The distance of the main race, part of Visma Ski Classics Challengers, is 40 km, while there are also shorter distances offered. During the race, participants can enjoy typical” Småländsk” nature with meadows and small villages on the way. After the race, everyone is invited to a friend feast in the organizer’s clubhouse with good food and fellow skiing enthusiasts.
“To become a Visma Ski Classics Challengers is a natural step for us since Värnamorullen wants to grow and be one of the biggest races in Sweden. Furthermore, there is a big interest for long distance skiing in our part of the country, and we want to give the local skiers the opportunity to measure their skills against professionals,” says race director Patrik Petersson.

Indeed, the interest in long distance skiing and Visma Ski Classics has been growing over the past few years. Värnamorullen is the ninth Swedish Challengers event and internationally the ninth roller ski event to join Visma Ski Classics.
