The Visma Ski Classics podcast Orsa2Levi continues tomorrow and takes a look back at the roller-ski season that this summer and early fall have presented us. The host Teemu Virtanen talks to Team Ramudden’s director Gustaf Korsgren whose Pro Team has been extremely successful in this summer season, particularly Max Novak who won five races back-to-back.

“I think that Max Novak has been the headline of this summer season, which is really great for our team. For us, it’s really important to have a summer season as well. We’ve been focusing on these roller-ski races instead of having summer training camps. This is really perfect to have a roller-ski season starting in August and finishing up in September. It splits the training season in two parts. We can have a rest period after the winter season, then train hard in the summer and get physically and mentally ready for a real racing season, and then have a break again before starting our build-up for the new winter season.”

On the podcast, Gustaf also analyzes each roller-ski race his team has undertaken and ponders the equality of the wheels in races and shares his views on the importance of roller-skiing.

“Of course, roller-skiing always has the issue of wheel resistance. Should we keep it open to all types of wheels or regulate it. I don’t know what’s fair to everyone involved, but for us this is still training with a more focused perspective, not only physically but also mentally. We see this as a good month with great races, but we are not taking it too seriously.”

Orsa2Levi is available on all podcast platforms and on the Visma Ski Classics website.
