Sprint Finish Decided The 157 XCC Open

It was a double win for Lager 157 Ski Team when the last event of the 157 XCC Rollerski Tour was decided in Liared, Sweden. In the overall ranking, there were also victories for the Pro Team behind the rollerski tour. 

Saturday was the time for the fifth competition in the 157 XCC Rollerski Tour, the 157 XCC Open in Liared, Sweden.

On the women’s side, Linnea Johansson, Lager 157 Ski Team, had already secured the overall victory in the cup but had a close fight with teammate Karolina Hedenström all the way to the finish. In the end, Hedenström was the strongest and took home the victory in a close sprint. Third place in the race was the Norwegian Karoline Naess, Bjerke IL.

The Lager 157 Ski Team also won on the men’s side. Emil Persson won the half minute ahead of Runar Skaug Mathiesen. Third in the race was Thomas Gifstad, Team Robinson Trentino. 

In the men’s overall ranking, Marcus Johansson needed to “get to the finish line” to take home the victory. And it was a fifth place for Johansson, who thus won the overall ahead of Thomas Gifstad, Team Robinson Trentino. It is noteworthy that Alvar Myhlback made a comeback after the shoulder injury during Alliansloppet weekend. Myhlback was fourth, three minutes behind the winner Persson.
