Petter Northug Is Ready For Totenrullen
The Norwegian cross-country ski star was at Toten on Wednesday and rollerskied through the course of this year’s Totenrullen, a Ski Classics Challengers event. The form is rising, and we can expect Northug in the lead in this race and several other competitions this season.
Totenrullen is part of the Ski Classics Challengers circuit and the Toten Ski Festival is organized by Totenrullen AS in collaboration with Kaffebryggeriet, IDT, Raufoss Idrettslag and Østre Toten Skilag.
The ski festival is arranged for the fourth time in 2022. It consists of rollerskiing in Karidalen on Østre Toten on Friday, June 17, and Totenrullen 60K Classic for the elite class on Saturday, June 18 (FIS points are required to be able to start at Totenrullen 60K).
Petter Northug is one of Norway’s most famous cross-country skiers. The man who has won 13 World Cup golds, two Olympic golds, and 38 World Cup victories retired in December 2018 but is still in excellent shape.
“The shape is fine now. I have trained well since April, so I plan to compete a bit this summer. That’s why I really appreciate that we have races like this. Cross-country skiing has become a year-round sport, and Totenrullen fits right in, so to speak,” Northug told Oppland Arbeiderblad.
“The course is wonderfully nice. It is hilly with both easy terrain and tough climbs. I’ve only seen Totenrullen on TV before, but I’m looking forward to racing here,” and continues:
“It is great that the area here has such a great race that is also broadcasted,” concludes Northug to Oppland Arbeiderblad.
Petter Northug announces that he will invest a lot in long-distance skiing next winter. At the same time, he works with both glasses and clothes through his clothing brand. The expert commentator job on TV2 is also something he greatly appreciates.
