The start of season XI has not gone how Astrid Øyre Slind, Team Koteng, expected. She didn’t finish Marcialonga and will not start at Jizerska 50 on Sunday.
“I tested the concept train hard win easy, but it ended up with train hard crash hard,” says Astrid.

Astrid told before the start of Season XI that she was unsure of her form but hoped to find it in the first races. After finishing sixth at La Diagonela and ninth at Toblach-Cortina, it was clear that it was not the Astrid we are used to seeing competing. At Marcialonga she was then forced to drop out of the race.

Astrid will now take a break from competitions, train at an easy pace, and hoping that her body will respond better.
“I tried to use the first races to get in shape, but it didn’t work. Now I will take it easy for a while and see what happens,” Astrid says.

If it has been a tough start this season for Astrid, her teammate Emilie Fleten has performed really well, finishing third, third and second in the first three events. Of course, this is something that pleases her teammate and neighbor, Astrid.
“Emilie was second at Jizerksa already last year and has progressed a lot since then. I think she can win on Sunday,” says Astrid.
