In a team presentation, Team Ramudden announced that Italian Luca Angelini would join the Pro Team as the new waxing chief.

Luca Angelini’s merit list includes three seasons with Team Eksjöhus, and he now heads to another Pro Team, Team Ramudden.

At the end of April, the outstanding wax tech of Ski Classics stars like Magni Smedås, Kati Roivas, and Eirik Sverdrup Augdal, among others, quit his position as wax tech for Team Eksjöhus after three years with the Pro Team.

The team that won the Ski Classics Pro Team competition Season XV by a solid margin has lost its super wax tech.

Today, at Team Ramudden’s team presentation for Ski Classics Season XVI, Luca Angelini was announced as the new chief of waxing for the Swedish Pro Team.

Team Ramudden about Season XV

Team Ramudden Pro Team Director Lina Korsgren reflected on Ski Classics Season XV in April.

Team Ramudden entered Season XV with the same lineup as a year ago. And it was a season that largely revolved around Emilie Fleten, the 31-year-old Norwegian, who joined Team Ramudden just before the start of last season. Last winter, she racked up top results, but it was “only” one victory. However, it was in the biggest race of them all: Vasaloppet.

Last season was a breakthrough. Fleten won seven races and was on the podium in all of them, which meant she won all three bibs available for her (Yellow Champion’s bib, Sprint bib, and Climb bib).

Lina Korsgren has just completed her second season as Team Ramudden Pro Team Director.

“We are super pleased with the season, although there are many aspects to it. Emilie is a part of it, but there are several parts. The guys were on the podium in two races before Christmas, with Amund (Riege) taking second place in Bad Gastein and Herman (Paus) securing his first victory in La Venosta ITT, and we also welcomed back Ida (Palmberg) after injury problems. Together, this meant we finished second in the team standings, which we are pleased about,” says Korsgren to Langd.se.

What is the strongest memory from the season?

“I would say Emilie’s Marcialonga victory. Marcialonga is such a classic race, which I know means a lot to her. But it was also the way it happened. She texted me in the morning saying she wasn’t sure if she would start because she didn’t feel completely 100%. That turnaround was impressive.”

What have you done well?

“That we continue to build on what we believe in. It’s about creating a good group and a culture within the team where everyone should feel comfortable where they are. I think we’re doing well both on and off the ski track. And I believe we’ve provided the athletes with good sporting conditions to succeed, which is crucial.”

What can be developed?

“I would say that success is often just a small step away from not quite reaching it. When it comes to training, there are certainly things we can tweak. During camps, we follow the same training plan for the whole group, but at home, the skiers have slightly different setups. We need to review how we can assist each individual based on their situation.”
