‘We are the Ski Family Syöte,’ a Ski Classics Challengers event, took place this Saturday, with a 40km roller ski race in classic technique Taivalkoski, Finland. Get to know the results.

‘We are the Ski Family Syöte,’ a Ski Classics Challengers event, took place this Saturday, with a 40km roller ski race in classic technique Taivalkoski, Finland. Get to know the results.

After a full day of action, the Ski Classics Challengers event ‘We are the Ski Family Syöte’ saw Miro Karppanen, Team Kaskipuu, and Vilma Ryytty, Iisalmen Visa, winning their respective races.

‘We are the Ski Family Syöte’ – Men’s Race

In the men’s race, the winner was Miro Karppanen, Team Kaskipuu, completing the race in a time of 1:32:28.0.

Lauri Mannila, Taivalkosken Metsä-Veikot, finished in second place, 4.2 seconds back, followed by Heikki Korpela, Taivalkosken Metsä-Veikot, completing the podium in the third position and 14.7 seconds behind the winner.

  2. Lauri Mannila, Taivalkosken Metsä-Veikot, +4.2
  3. Heikki Korpela, Taivalkosken Metsä-Veikot, +14.7

‘We are the Ski Family Syöte’ – Women’s Race

In the women’s competition, the winner was Vilma Ryytty, Iisalmen Visa, with a total time of 1:56:29.7. 

Oona Kettunen, Team Kaskipuu, finished in second place, 27.4 seconds back, followed by Anni Huovinen, Puijon Hiihtoseura, more than 9 minutes behind the winner, and completing the podium in the third position.

  1. Vilma Ryytty, Iisalmen Visa, 1:56:29.7
  2. Oona Kettunen, Team Kaskipuu, +27.4
  3. Anni Huovinen, Puijon Hiihtoseura, +9:22.2

As ‘We are the Ski Family Syöte’ is a Ski Classics Challengers event, Pro Team registered athletes could collect points for the Ski Classics Champion and Youth competitions in their respective gender.
