The eD system Silvini Pro Team recently wrapped up its first training camp of the year, featuring an intensive seven-stage cycling program in Italy.

Venturing into the picturesque Italian terrain bordering Austria and Slovenia, the eD system Silvini Team embarked on a series of road biking stages, marking the beginning of their eleventh consecutive spring camp. Nestled in the idyllic spa town of Arta di Terme, positioned just below the formidable Zoncolan, the camp provided the ideal setting for the team’s preparations.
Each day brought forth 2-3 routes spanning 80 to 130 kilometers, incorporating significant elevation gains and challenging hills. This allowed every member to tailor their morning rides based on their individual stamina and preferences. Notably, the region boasted an array of remarkably steep ascents, with gradients often surpassing 20% and the most daunting climb reaching a staggering 24%. Afternoons were dedicated to activities such as stretching, leisurely walks, and refreshing baths, accentuating the team’s comprehensive training regimen.
Throughout the camp, the athletes conquered a series of mountain passes, including Passo Zoncolan, Monte Crostis, Passo Lanza, Passo Rest, Sella Valcalda, Sella di Rioda, Forca di Pani, Sella Chiampon, Sella Chianzutan, and Sella Cerstiachis, some of which were traversed multiple times.
The weather conditions proved to be favorable, with predominantly sunny and warm days. While there was one day of rain, it had been anticipated and accounted for in the schedule.
Overall, the team covered an impressive distance of approximately 700 kilometers, conquering a remarkable 15.000 vertical meters.
The Pro Team Director Marek Pazderský highlights the important work of the support team:
“The invaluable support of Evička and Martina, who ensured the team’s needs were met and expertly operated the vehicle stocked with refreshments, deserves special recognition,” and continues:
“With the road cycling segment now behind, the team will shift their focus to roller skiing in preparation for the upcoming EDS Skiroll Classics – Czech Cup roller ski races. These pivotal events are slated to take place in Velké Karlovice in mid-July, followed by Rýmařov in early August, and the Orlické Mountains in mid-August. Looking ahead, the team’s next training camp is scheduled for early September in Germany, continuing the tradition of including activities for children.”
The autumn preparation phase will culminate in the highly anticipated Lipnolopet, a Ski Classics Challengers event, along with the prestigious international Czech Championship in long-distance skiing spanning 55 kilometers. This event serves as an invitation to all professional and recreational skiers seeking a thrilling sports spectacle.
More information about Lipnolopet can be found on the event’s website and at Ski Classics.
