This year’s Visma Ski Classics Pro Tour kicks off in Orsa, Sweden, with the Pro Team Tempo and individual Prologue races on December 18 and 19.

Now, La Venosta in Italy, the fifth stage in the Visma Ski Classics Pro Tour, is canceled. The original plan was to have two events in the region, La Venosta on Saturday, January 15, with the start and finish in Melago and then Reschenseerennen on Sunday, January 16, with the start and finish in Graum im Vinschgau.

This has now been changed, and the Reschenseerennen has been moved to Saturday, January 15, and extended from 50 km to 75 km. The course will have three laps of 25 km around the lake. The open public race on the same course will take place on Sunday, January 16.

The main reason for the change is that the orgaziners can now offer a good and safe event. Now, the Pro Team athletes and recreational skiers can have separate on the weekend so that safety regulations can be carried more effectively. The registration for the public race opens on October 1, 2021.

Lake Reschens is located at 1500 meters above sea level in the far north of Italy on the border with Switzerland. The lake is known for the church spire that protrudes from the water. The landmark has been there since 1950 when the lake was dammed, and several villages had to be relocated, but the church remained.

Here you can find the schedule for all the races in this winter’s Visma Ski Classics Pro Tour.
