Challengers Les Belles Combes This Sunday In France

by Leandro Lutz • 17.02.2023
Celebrating its 40th anniversary, the Ski Classics Challengers event Les Belles Combes is a 39km long-distance race in classic technique and takes place this Sunday, February 19, in Les Moussières, France.

Les Belles Combes, scheduled initially for a 42km race and reduced to 39km this year, is one of France’s references for long-distance skiing events. The race in classic technique takes place in the village of Les Moussières, situated in the middle of the Haut Jura Nature Parc, France.

The event celebrates 40 years of experience this year. The course takes place in the magical ‘Hautes Combes,’ offering tracks through beautiful landscapes, only one hour drive from Geneva, Switzerland, and 1,5 hours from French cities Lyon, Annecy, and Besançon.

The weather conditions are pretty challenging this winter, but the snow is present in the ‘Hautes Combes’ and the ‘La Pesse’ sectors, offering well-preserved tracks and laps of 13km for the skiers during the weekend.

Les Belles Combes also offers freestyle technique races of 26km, and 13km, an untimed event of 13km on Saturday, and classic technique distances of 26km and 13km on Sunday.
