Arctic Alta Skimaraton in Norway has become part of the Visma Ski Classics Challengers series. The 42km freestyle race takes place on February 27, 2022.

The new Visma Ski Classics Challengers event in 2022 is a beautiful long-distance skiing race in skating technique that starts at the Bossekop Arena and finishes at Kaiskuru Ski Stadium, close to the city center of Alta, in Norway, running through a long loop around Alta.

The race crosses the beautiful Alta River and other scenic places, with primarily light terrain but one significant climb up the Detsika-hill and through a cabin village at the top. For your nutrition and hydration, there will be four checkpoints along the course.

The Visma Ski Classics Legend Petter Eliassen, who together with Tverrelvalen Idrettslag is organizing the event, shares his enjoyment in being part of the Visma Ski Classics:

“We have a great believe in the Visma Ski Classics concept and look forward to being a part of the Visma Ski Classics Challengers family and developing our event in the coming years.”

Arctic Alta Skimaraton is part of the Arctic ski & fatbikefestival. Together, they organize the Arctic Alta Fatbike 42 and 20km on Saturday and the Arctic Alta Ski 42, 20km, and Relay races on Sunday, February 27.
