Norwegian Pro Team sensation Torleif Syrstad, winner of Vasaloppet and Janteloppet, capped off his remarkable winter season with yet another podium finish, this time at the Swedish season finale, TrilleTuren.

Torleif Syrstad, Lager 157 Ski Team, winner of Vasaloppet and Janteloppet 2024, secured third place in TrilleTuren on Saturday morning, outperforming several of Sweden’s elite national team skiers, including Olympic sprinter Oskar Svensson.

The spotlight, however, belonged to Fredrik Andersson, the athlete from Piteå Elit and younger brother of traditional cross-country skiing star Ebba Andersson. Andersson dominated the competition, clinching victory with a commanding lead.

Fredrik’s success at TrilleTuren follows his solid performances earlier this season. He recently secured third place in the star-studded Ski Classics Challengers event Fjälltopploppet and claimed bronze in the 50km race at the Swedish championships.

Ebba Andersson in top form

World Cup star Ebba Andersson continued her winning streak in the women’s field, triumphing in the 26-kilometer race at Trillevallen. She dominated the field, crossing the finish line almost five minutes ahead of her closest competitor, Karolina Hedenström, Lager 157 Ski Team, who earned the coveted Pink Youth bib in Ski Classics Season XV. Austrian cross-country skier Katharina Brudermann rounded out the podium.

Notably absent from the race was Emilie Fleten, the overall winner of Ski Classics Season XV, who was scheduled to compete but did not start.

The anticipated showdown between Ebba Andersson, who won the 30km race at the World Championships in Planica and finished second in the 50km race in Holmenkollen this winter, and Fleten failed to materialize, leaving spectators awaiting the next season’s matchups.
