220 Kilometers On Rollerskis

by MÅRTEN LÅNG • 11.06.2022
Earlier this week, Emil Persson, Oskar Kardin and Konrad Mattsson Myhr completed a 200 kilometers rollerski training session. “It is a challenge, but an advantage is that all other workouts feel shorter afterward,” says Persson.

There are different ways to exercise in June. Still, Emil Persson, Lager 157 Ski Team, Oskar Kardin, Team Ragde Charge, and Konrad Mattsson Myhr, Exsitec Ski Team, chose to do it by rollerskiing around Storsjön, the fifth largest lake in Sweden.

“Like so many other slightly crazy ideas, this appeared on a late evening a couple of years ago. This was the third time I tried, and the second time I completed the Storsjön loop on rollerskis. This round is ridden quite frequently with a bicycle,” says Emil Persson.

The trio covered the 220 kilometers, with a start and finish in Östersund, in 10 hours and 50 minutes, averaging over 20 kilometers per hour.

How is your body after the workout?
“It is a bit sore, but I think it feels pretty good. And it is a very good workout to do. It gives you hardness and endurance. Then there is another advantage; all other workouts feel shorter afterward,” concludes Emil Persson with a laugh.
